Yesterday was Imbolc the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. This time is a time to honor the Celtic Goddess Brigid (pronounced "breed"). Brigid is the goddess of the hearth. With her primary symbol fire, she signals the transition and transformation of both earth's landscape and your own inner landscape from inertia into a fertile and vibrant panorama of rich growth. This is a time to align with the your inner fires of creative inspiration to nurture the projects, ideas, and potential germinating within you.The transition from winter to spring is a reminder that we all must change. To stay in one place, or in one form, is to become stagnant and to die. In order to live, and thrive, you must embrace change; Invite in the energy of creative transformation that Brigid represents.A small ritual to harness Brigid energy:Light a candle. Close your eyes and visualize a change you hope to bring into your life. What are you willing to give up for this change. Remember, we must always offer up something to invite something in. Pledge to give up something. Open your eyes and write down one thing you can do today to start that change.
