Day 13 of 30 Days to Healthy Living: Energy Makes the World Go Round
/**I am currently on Arbonne's 30 Days to Healthy Living program. I don't trust myself that I won't cheat (really, how long can I go without coffee??) and to hold myself accountable, I am forcing myself to sit down each day and tell my day as it was.***
When I mentioned to people I am on this healthy living program, the first question is "what does that mean?" When I list the foods I am cutting out, the one that gets the most kick-back is "no coffee." I understand their sentiments. I have tried for years to cut coffee out of my diet and always go back to the "Black Juice" (as I once heard it referred to by yogini Shiva Rea).
When I first started this program I was sure that coffee was going to be my downfall. Except for the habitual urges to drink it on cold, rainy days, I haven't had much problems. I have had no withdrawal headaches...and, a complete shocker, no noticeable body odor.
Au Naturel
For awhile, I have suspected that my (sometimes) excessive BO is directly correlated with the amount of coffee I am drinking. I drink a lot of coffee throughout my day and often wash myself before and after I teach yoga classes because I smell bad. Come on, nobody wants to the that smelly person, right? Most deodorants irritate my skin, even the natural ones, so I am left to soap, water, and close-armpit hugging to keep from offending friends, students, and loved ones. Since I quit drinking coffee almost two weeks ago, I am pleasantly aware that I hardly smell.
Magic Water
In addition to smelling sweet, I have not had withdrawals or the no-coffee-extreme-exhaustion slump. I attributed this to Arbonne's fizz sticks. They are designed to replace coffee whether in the morning or for the afternoon sleepies. Fizz sticks, a magical formula of antioxidants and a botanical blend of green tea, guarana and ginseng, combined with B vitamins and chromium, are the best thing for anyone in the western world! Without the toxins and chemicals of most energy drinks or the crash that comes after coffee, these fizz sticks temporarily help promote alertness, enhance cognitive performance, promote endurance, enhance motor performance, and help reduce fatigue (And no yellow stained teeth!). I think they are magic in my water.
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary. It will be me and my fizz energy drink (in a tank top with my arms help high and proud) cheering Jeremy with his glass wine.
